The claim is inaccurate. There is no evidence that Bragg has been taken into custody.
Fact Check:
Bragg indicted former President Donald Trump on 34 felony counts in relation to money paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, CBS News reported. Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges when he was arraigned last week.
The Twitter post purports Bragg has been arrested. The post shares a video of Bragg exiting the Manhattan courthouse and entering a vehicle with security close behind. “PROSECUTOR INVESTIGATING DONALD TRUMP HAS BEEN ARRESTED,” the post reads. “Alvin Bragg leaves his post in Manhattan. Watch until end… transient sirens!”
The claim is inaccurate. The video did not show sirens or handcuffs on Bragg as he exited the building. He did not get into a police vehicle and he was carrying a bag on his shoulder when he left.
There is no credible news report that suggests that Bragg has been taken into custody. The Associated Press logo can be seen in the top right of the video. The AP posted this video to YouTube on Mar. 27. The video is titled, “Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg seen leaving office.”
The House Judiciary Committee has launched an investigation into the process of the Manhattan DA’s office with regard to the indictment of Trump, NBC News reported. The Committee is seeking testimony from former officials within the DA’s office. (RELATED: No, This Is Not A Real Headline About Male Pregnancy)
