FACT CHECK: Did The Military Arrest 19,000 Doctors For COVID Crimes?

A post shared on social media purports that the U.S. military has arrested 19,000 doctors for crimes related to COVID-19.

Verdict: False

The claim is inaccurate. The post stems from a satirical website.

Fact Check:

Republican Presidential candidate Ron DeSantis has promised recently to persecute Dr. Anthony Fauci if he is elected president, The National Review reported. The Republican Florida Governor stated during an interview with Clay Travis that Fauci is “guilty of lying before Congress” and suggested a double standard of justice exists between Democrats and Conservatives.

The Facebook post purports that the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps has indicted 19,000 doctors for unethical practices related to partnerships held with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Nation Institute of Health. The post goes on to claim that these doctors used unethical tactics to berate elderly and pregnant patients to get the COVID vaccine.

The claim is inaccurate. There is no credible news report that suggests these arrests have taken place. The post offers no source or evidence of any kind that supports this claim. The post makes reference to an anonymous source that made this information known.

The post appears to stem from a satirical news outlet called Real Raw News. The “about section of the website features a disclaimer that self identifies the website as satire saying, “This website contains humor, parody, and satire.”(RELATED: Did RFK Jr. Meet With Then-President Trump To Lead A Vaccine Safety Commission?)

This is not the first time a misinformation has been shared online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim that Mel Gibson requested protection from Hollywood elites.
