Verdict: False

There is no evidence for this claim. Campbell’s autopsy was performed by a state medical examiner, not a “personal coroner” of the Obama family.

Fact Check:

Campbell, 45, was recently found dead after a paddle boarding accident in Martha’s Vineyard near Barack Obama’s country estate, according to The Independent. Another paddle boarder and Obama staffer was present and tried to save Campbell, but did not reach him in time, New York Post reported.

The Instagram video claims Campbell’s autopsy is being done by the Obama family’s “personal coroner.” This information is relayed via a man recording himself in his living room with epic music playing in the background.

“Who’s going to be doing the autopsy?” a man in the video says. “The Obamas’ own personal coroner getting flown in from D.C.”

There is no evidence for this claim, however. A state medical examiner conducted a post-mortem examination and found no external trauma or injuries, according to the Vineyard Gazette and Daily Mail.

Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to corroborate the claim. (RELATED: Viral Post Falsely Claims Obama’s Taped Fingers Prove His Involvement In Tafari Campbell’s Death)

Check Your Fact has reached out to the Massachusetts State Police and the Obama Foundation for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received from either source.

This is not the first time misinformation involving Campbell’s death has gone viral. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim that Campbell died on the anniversary of late financier Jeffrey Epstein’s death.
