A post shared on social media purports that the National Football League (NFL) issued a lifetime ban to Beyoncé after she sang the Black National Anthem.

Verdict: False

The claim is inaccurate. The claim stems from a satirical website.

Fact Check:

USA Today and The Tennessean are hiring a reporter to exclusively follow Taylor Swift and Beyoncé,  Rolling Stone reported. A reporter working in this capacity is mainly reserved for presidents and presidential candidates.

The Facebook post purports Beyoncé has been banned from all football games. The post features side-by-side photos of Beyoncé singing and an image of a football field with an American Flag on display.

Below the images a text reads, “NFL Issues Beyoncé A ‘Lifetime Ban’ For Singing A ‘Black National Anthem’ At NFL.” The caption reads, “Good, Only one anthem.”

The claim is inaccurate. There are no credible news reports that Beyoncé was banned from NFL games. The claim stems from an article posted on the parody website, Esspots.com. Esspots shares a disclaimer on their about page that reads, “A Subsidiary of SpaceXMania.com specializing in Satire and Parody News.”

SpaceXmania is another parody website that features stories related to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. The website’s about section self-identifies as satire writing, “dedicated to providing our readers with the latest news, analysis, and satire related to Elon Musk, Space, SpaceX, and everything in between. (RELATED: Did Burning Man Address Cannibalism Rumors At Event?)

This is not the first time misinformation has been shared online about the NFL. Check Your Fact debunked a post that the NFL told Colin Kaepernick to sell hair products instead of playing football.
