A video shared on Facebook claims to show pro-Palestinian protesters clashing with police in Barcelona, Spain.

Social media users have been sharing a video claiming it shows pro-Palestinian protesters clashing with police in Barcelona. The video’s caption reads, “Pro-Palestinian protesters attack police in Barcelona, Spain. Multiple gun shots heard as protesters attempt to attack police vehicles before reinforcements arrive.”

This video, however, is not from a pro-Palestinian protest, nor is it related to the current fighting and global events. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the video is from at least November 2020 and appears to be related to lockdown protests, according to the X account that posted the video.

“Barcelona,Spain : Clashes with police over lockdown restrictions results in officers injured . police used motorbikes to chase down rioters tonight with several arrests made as large crowds gathered in other places in the city to protest,” the account tweeted.

The video was geolocated to Barcelona by Reuters. There were clashes between protesters and police over COVID-19 restrictions and policies, according to The New York Times.
