Verdict: False

The claim stems from a satirical website.

Fact Check:

The American Civil Liberties Union has recently filed a lawsuit against the Children’s Hospital Colorado for stopping transition surgeries for adults, Fox News reported. ACLU is claiming discrimination against an 18-year old patient who is unable to receive “chest masculinization surgery” since some surgeries have been halted.

A post shared on Instagram alleges that a South Carolina man was shot by hunters. The post features an image of a man painted to look like a deer and wearing fake antlers.

The caption reads, “Trans species man who self-identifies as a deer accidentally shot by hunters. A South Carolina man who self-identifies as a deer has been transported to the hospital via helicopter after being shot by two hunters.”

The claim is inaccurate. It stems from an old satirical news outlet called, “World News Daily Report.” The now defunct website did feature a disclaimer that identified the site as parody.

They wrote at the bottom of the article, “World News Daily Report assumes all responsibility for the satirical nature of its articles and for the fictional nature of their content. All characters appearing in the articles in this website – even those based on real people – are entirely fictional and any resemblance between them and any person, living, dead or undead, is purely a miracle.” (RELATED: Video Claims To Show Chinese Communist Party Destroying Mosque)

This is not the first time misinformation was shared online. Check Your Fact debunked a claim Saudi Arabia and Qatar supported strikes on Houthis.
