Verdict: False

There are no credible news reports or posts on either celebrity’s account to corroborate the claim.

Fact Check:

Kelce and his brother, Jason, released a statement addressing the shooting that took place at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade, which killed one person and injured 22 others, according to The Guardian. Jason called the incident “unfortunate and deeply tragic” in an Instagram video, the outlet reported.

An Instagram post claims Kelce and Swift would leave the country if Trump wins the 2024 election. Text above images of the couple reads, “BREAKING: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce say they will leave the United States if Donald Trump becomes President in 2024. What’s your reaction?”

This claim is baseless, however. There are no credible news reports about either person making such a statement. The claim cannot be found on Kelce’s social media accounts. Likewise, it cannot be found through searching Swift’s social media posts

Although it is partially cropped out in the Instagram photo, the claim was originally posted to X by an account called @DonaldTNews, which holds no affiliation to Trump. Check Your Fact has previously debunked a claim from this account.

Swift has expressed disapproval for Trump in the past. An August 2020 X post from Swift reads, “Trump’s calculated dismantling of USPS proves one thing clearly: He is WELL AWARE that we do not want him as our president. He’s chosen to blatantly cheat and put millions of Americans’ lives at risk in an effort to hold on to power.”

Check Your Fact has contacted spokespeople for Swift and Kelce and will update this piece accordingly if a comment is received from either source.
