A post shared on X claims to show an explosion in Haifa, Israel.

Verdict: False

The video is from Taiwan, not Israel. It is from 2023 and not related to the current Hezbollah and Israeli hostilities.

Fact Check:

Israel struck Lebanon with several airstrikes Sept. 23, with the Lebanese Health Ministry saying the strikes killed at least 350 people, according to NPR. Israel says it was striking Hezbollah, the outlet reported.

Social media users are claiming to show an explosion in Haifa due to Hezbollah missiles. One user wrote, “An explosion inside the port of Haifa due to missiles launched from Lebanon.” (RELATED: Did JD Vance Follow Trump Would-Be Assassin On Social Media?)

This claim is false. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the video was shared on YouTube in December 2023. The video is titled, “Shocking news of fishing boat burning in Budai Town. The fishing boat was caught in the sea of fire, but no one was injured.”

Budai Town is in Taiwan, according to Wikipedia. Misbar also debunked this claim.
