Fact Check:

Vance was allegedly denied the opportunity to meet with supporters inside of a Pittsburgh restaurant, according to the Independent. The restaurant, Primanti Bros., stateed that “[w]thout any advance notice, today’s campaign stop caused some momentary confusion for our staff” and that “Vance and his team were welcomed into our restaurant shortly after and engaged with our guests inside and on the property.”

A Facebook post claims that Primanti Bros. closed ten of its locations following the decision to allegedly deny Vance permission to enter the restaurant. The caption reads, “Primanti Bros. Shuts Down 10 Prime Locations Amid Boycott Backlash Following J.D. Vance Fallout.”

This claim is false. If this had occurred, credible media outlets would have covered it, yet none have reported on this claim. The claim appears to have originated from an online satirical story . The satirical story contains a disclaimer that reads, “NOTE: This is SATIRE, it’s not True.” A viral Facebook post with the same claim is “rated satire.”
