Fact Check:

A post made on Facebook claims that actor Mark Wahlberg called for teachers that remove the American flag from their classrooms to be fired immediately. The caption reads, “Mark Wahlberg Demands Immediate Firing Of Teachers Who Remove American Flags From Classrooms.”

The claim is false. There are no credible sources that have reported on this claim. The claim appears to stem from a post shared on satirical Facebook page ‘Strong Community.’ The Facebook page’s descriptions states, “Welcome to the realm of satire and smiles.”

Check Your Fact found a post made on Threads with the same claim that has been “rated satire.” The caption reads, “Mark Wahlberg Demands Immediate Firing of Teachers Who Remove American Flags from Classrooms.” The image includes a disclaimer that reads, “Strong Community Rated Satire.”

A Threads user reposted the claim and emphasized the disclaimer. The caption reads, “Look at the watermark. It’s satire. Side note: Mark Wahlberg is far from a saint but to share this like its fact is not it.”

This is not the first time satirical stories regarding Wahlberg have been shared as fact. Check Your Fact previously debunked a claim that Mark Wahlberg denied an opportunity to be part of a $2 billion Disney project.
