Verdict: False
The video is a compilation of clips that are not related to the current conflict in Israel.
Fact Check:
The United States military has not been briefed on Israel’s plan to retaliate against Iran for their attack last week, but noted that their plans may not be finalized, NBC News reported. Israel has expanded its invasions of Lebanon as the United Nations speculated that the country may be on the same trajectory as Gaza in part due to the amount of displacements, according to NBC.
A post shared on Threads purports to show clips of Israel under attack from Iran. The videos include one of a large smoke plume and another of buildings on fire.
The caption reads, “It’s always warm in Israel. Come visit. (Fire insurance included).” The text overly labels the videos as taking place in Tel Aviv.
The claim is inaccurate. The video is a compilation of clips that are not related to the current conflict in Israel.
The first clip shows a fire that took place at a shopping center in Warsaw Poland. Sky News shared a video of the fire and the front entryway can be seen in both videos. The second clip appears to have been posted on Sept. 2023 in Algeria. (Fact Check: Did Iran Conduct A Nuclear Test That Triggered An Earthquake?)
This is not the first time misinformation has circulated online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim Pakistan threatened nuclear retaliation against Israel.
