Verdict: False
This video was taken on Sept. 30, over two weeks before his death.
Fact Check:
One Direction is a hugely successful pop band that was formed in London in 2012, before going on an indefinite hiatus in 2016. Members of the popular boy band issued statements mourning the loss of Payne, according to ABC News.
Payne reportedly fell out of a third story window at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the preliminary cause of death being reported by Fox News to be from an “internal and external hemorrhage.”
Shortly before #LiamPayne fell to his death from a balcony, a hotel manager reportedly called #911 to report the former #OneDirection star was wasted and destroying his room. Full story in bio. pic.twitter.com/lEEqtdBx8Y

A post with over 10 million views on X shows the singer singing to a fan while signing an autograph for her. The caption states that this video was taken the night before his death.
This is false, however. The video is from Sept. 30, and predates his death by two weeks. The original post has struck with a community note giving proper context, and the original poster posted a follow up giving the correct date. (RELATED: Did Melania Trump Say She Wants A Divorce?)
Hey guys, this video went viral on TikTok today and I thought it was taken yesterday because of the comment section, but it’s from September 30th. Still sad and recent. My intent was only to spread how caring Liam was with his fans and how strong he was! RIP Liam Payne 🖤 pic.twitter.com/owuuxoUfbw
