Verdict: False

The post is inaccurate. Trump and Vance were not listed on the website to begin with because they did not submit an optional statement once contacted, a spokesperson for the Oregon Secretary of State told Check Your Fact via email.

Fact Check:

A report from House Democrat alleges that Trump benefited from officials and overcharged Secret Service agents that visited his hotel in Washington, D.C., according to NBC News. When the agents were allegedly overcharged, Trump was president and the agents were protecting him and his family, the outlet reported.

An Instagram video shows a man speaking, claiming Griffin-Valade removed Vance and Trump from a webpage on the Oregon Secretary of State website.  He shows a page on the site that says “Voters’ Pamphlet” and clicks “Partisan Candidates,” which does not list Trump.

“EXCLUSIVE: The Sec. Of State of Oregon, LaVonne Griffin-Valade has REMOVED President Trump and JD Vance from the official State website 19 days before the election,” the post’s caption reads, in part.

Laura Kerns, communications director for the Oregon Secretary of State, confirmed the claim is false in an email to Check Your Fact.

“It is false to say he was ‘removed’ from our website,” she said. “The online voters’ pamphlet reflects the printed pamphlet; as it says on our website, only candidates who submitted statements are listed in the online menus.” She also clarified that the submission is optional and that they reached out to Trump’s campaign, but never received a response.

Kerns also referred Check Your Fact to the Oregon Republican Party’s statement on the matter. (RELATED: Did Donald Trump Announce He Will Ban Video Games?)

The Online Voters’ Guide website has a disclaimer stating, “Candidates are not required to file voters’ pamphlet statements. Only candidates who submitted statements are listed in the online menus. All candidates will appear on ballots.”
