A post shared on Facebook claims U.S. Marines have purportedly arrested ballot “mules” in Pennsylvania.

Verdict: False

The claim is false and originally stems from an Oct. 30 article published on the satire site “Real Raw News.”

Fact Check:

A recent Fox News poll shows 2024 Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump maintains a narrow lead over 2024 Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris at 49% to 47% among likely voters, according to the outlet. Harris is ahead of Trump by one point on the expanded ballot at 48% to 47%, the outlet indicated.

The Facebook post claims U.S. Marines have purportedly arrested ballot “mules” in Pennsylvania. According to the same post, U.S. Marines purportedly witnessed individuals at two separate ballot drop boxes in Bucks County, Pennsylvania deposit multiple votes for Harris. Both individuals were allegedly being interrogated, the post further indicates.

The claim is false and originally stems from an Oct. 30 article published on the satire site “Real Raw News.” A “Disclaimer” included on the site’s “About Us” page indicates its content is not meant to be taken literally. “Information on this website is for informational and educational and entertainment purposes. Likewise, Check Your Fact did not find the claim referenced on the U.S. Marine Corps’ website or its verified social media accounts. In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. If the claim was true, multiple media outlets would’ve covered it, yet none have.

The false claim appears to follow a recent CBS News report that a judge extended mail ballot voting in Bucks County, Pennsylvania to the end of the business day on Friday, Nov. 1. According to the same report, Trump and 2024 Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate Dave McCormick sued Bucks County as a result of “long lines” and voters being “turned away.”
