A post shared on social media purports Nancy Pelosi expressed anger in a press conference the morning after Donald Trump won the presidential election.

Verdict: Misleading

The video is from after Roe V. Wade was overturned.

Fact Check:

Former President Donald Trump was elected the 47th President of the United States and thanked his supporters for his win before it was official, according to The Associated Press. Trump has reached the necessary 270 Electoral Votes after Wisconsin was called for him.

A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, purports Pelosi said it is not a good morning the day the election. In the video, Pelosi is wearing a red blazer with a gold pin as she stands before a podium with flags behind her.

The caption reads, “PELOSI: THERE’S NO POINT IN SAYING GOOD MORNING ‘Because it certainly is not one.’ Source: MSNBC.”

The claim is inaccurate. The video dates back to 2022 when Roe V Wade was overturned in the United States Supreme Court. The court ruled to overturn the 1973 Roe V Wade which sent the decision about abortion rights back to the states, NPR reported.

Pelosi won her 20th House of Representative race in California, The Hill reported. Pelosi won the 11th district in her state, the outlet reported. Pelosi predicted on Election Day that Democrats will win the House of Representatives and Hakeem Jeffries will become the Speaker of the House, according to PBS. (RELATED: Did The FBI And Department Of Education Suggest Closing Schools Amid Shooting Risks During Election?)

This is not the first time misinformation has circulated online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim that former NFL quarterback Tom Brady endorsed Trump in the final days of the presidential campaign.
