A post shared on social media purports musician Rihanna said she will release new music if Vice President Kamala Harris wins the 2024 election.

Verdict: False

The claim is inaccurate.

Fact Check:

President-elect Donald Trump has announced Susie Wiles will be the White House chief of staff and will be the first female in the position, NBC reported. Wiles served as his co-campaign chair, according to the outlet.

A post shared on Instagram purported that Rihanna wanted to release music in the wake of Harris’s potential victory in the 2024 election. The post shared an image of Harris in a blue blazer and one of Rihanna as she touches her face.

The caption reads, “Rihanna says she will announce a song tonight if Kamala Harris wins the presidential election: ‘If Kamala wins, I’ll drop a song. Just do what y’all gotta do in order to make that happen.'”

The claim is inaccurate.  There is no such statement on any of her social media accounts.

The claim originated on a social media account that made it clear in subsequent posts that it was a joke.

Rihanna did support is a supporter of Harris. She made a post showing a video of herself with the caption, “POV: me trying to sneak into the polls with my son’s passport #votecauseicant.” (RELATED: Viral X Image Shows Ballots From 2020, Not 2024)

This is not the first time misinformation surrounding the election has circulated online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim a Facebook video shows a “ballot mule” in Lincoln, Nebraska.
