A viral post shared on Facebook claims MSNBC host Rachel Maddow recently broke down crying and ran off the set of her show, “The Rachel Maddow Show.”

The claim is false and can be traced back to a Nov. 14 post shared on the satirical Facebook page “America – Love It Or Leave It.”

MSNBC’s primetime audience has declined 53%, according to Nielsen data, The New York Times reported. In addition, a recent episode of Maddow’s show drew one million fewer viewers than its October average, the outlet indicated.
The Facebook post claims Maddow recently broke down crying and ran off the set of her show, “The Rachel Maddow Show.”
“Rachel Maddow broke down crying and ran off set, once again proving the left’s inability to reach age 12,” the post, which does not provide a source to support its claim, reads.
The claim is false and can be traced back to a Nov. 14 post shared on the satirical Facebook page “America – Love It Or Leave It.” The Facebook page describes itself as “a subsidiary of the America’s Last Line of Defense [ALLOD] network of trollery.”
Likewise, Check Your Fact did not find the claim referenced on the website for Maddow’s show or her verified social media accounts.
In addition, Check Your Fact did not find any credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Nov. 18, Snopes debunked the claim, indicating it stems from the same satirical Facebook page. The claim appears to follow a Nov. 10 story from the New Yorker detailing Maddow’s concerns about President-elect Donald Trump’s 2024 victory, Snopes reported.
