An image shared on X allegedly shows former California governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger wearing a shirt that reads, “I didn’t vote for the McFelon.”

Verdict: False

This image has been digitally altered. The original photo shows Schwarzenegger with a plain black T-shirt.

Fact Check:

President-elect Donald Trump has officially named his selection for the next secretary of the Department of Education on Tuesday, his transition co-chair Linda McMahon, who he claims will help make “America Number One in Education,” according to CNN. He also named his other transition co-chair, Howard Lutnick, as his choice to lead the Commerce Department, the outlet reported.

An X image appears to show Schwarzenegger grinning while wearing a shirt that reads, “I didn’t vote for the McFelon.” The shirt shows the McDonald’s logo with what appears to resemble President-elect Donald Trump’s hair atop the M. The photo has been edited, however. The original image can be seen in an Instagram post from Arnold Sports UK and shows Schwarzenegger wearing a plain black T-shirt with no text. Schwarzenegger was pictured next to professional bodybuilder Phil Heath, according to the post’s caption, who was cropped out of the edited photo. Arnold Sports UK is a sports festival owned by and named after Schwarzenegger.

Schwarzenegger endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election in a post on X in October. “I will always be an American before I am a Republican,” the post reads, in part. “That’s why, this week, I am voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
