Verdict: False

Both the Heritage Foundation’s Director of Finance and Hobby Lobby’s CEO share the name David Green. Photos of the two men clearly show they are not the same person.

Fact Check:

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Russell Vought to be director of the Office of Management and Budget, according to Forbes. Vought is linked to the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, which Trump has denied being affiliated with, the outlet reported.

The Threads post, which has garnered over 900 likes as of writing, claims Green, who serves as Director of Finance at the Heritage Foundation, is also the CEO of Hobby Lobby.

“The Heritage Foundation is behind Project25. Their Director of Finance is David Green. Owner of Hobby Lobby. You know what to do,” the post, which does not provide a source to support its claim, reads.

The claim is false. The Heritage Foundation does list a man named David Green as Director of Finance on its website. The website does not mention any link to Hobby Lobby, however. An accompanying photo of Green shows a man with gray hair and brown eyes wearing a dark suit coat, gray shirt, and gray and blue striped tie.

Likewise, Hobby Lobby’s website indicates its founder and CEO is named David Green. An accompanying photo shows a man with white hair and glasses wearing a dark suit coat, white shirt, and red tie. Green’s bio included on the website does not mention any link to the Heritage Foundation.

Thus, the photos of the two men clearly show they bear no resemblance to each other despite having the same name.

In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports indicating David Green, who serves as the Heritage Foundation’s Director of Finance, is also the CEO of Hobby Lobby. Actually, the opposite is true. On Nov. 26, Reuters debunked the claim, stating that the two men happen to share the same name. (RELATED: Did Rachel Maddow Cry On Show Due To Elon Musk X Post?)
