Verdict: False
The claim is false as the social media user who shared the statement later admitted it was fake in another X post.
Fact Check:
During the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump said he intended to release the remaining documents related to Kennedy’s assassination if elected, according to Forbes. Trump claimed he has “an idea” of what the remaining records say on an episode of the “All In” podcast in June, the outlet reported.
The X image, which has garnered over 400,000 views as of writing, purports to show a Trump/Vance transition team statement ordering the Dallas Police Department to prepare for an arrest related to the Kennedy assassination.
“On Behalf of Incumbent President Donald Trump, and Robert F. Kennedy we are here by ordering the Dallas Police Department and the Dallas Attorney General’s office to begin preparation for the arrest and prosecution of Ruth Paine (9-3-1932) for Conspiracy to Commit the Murder of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963,” the purported statement begins.
According to the same statement, recently disclosed Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) documents link Paine to Kennedy’s killer, Lee Harvey Oswald, and also claim Paine worked for the CIA.
The claim is false. The social media user who shared the image admitted the statement was fake in a subsequent post shared on X.
“Disclaimer: This is a FAKE DOC!! The above document is not real.. I made it as a social experiment to see how people would respond on X..,” the social media user wrote. “The CIA spread false info on the JFK Assassination for 7 decades, so I’m sorry, but not sorry for this! Keep up the good fight!” he added.

Likewise, Check Your Fact did not find the claim referenced on Trump’s official website or his TRUTH Social account. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., nephew of the late Kennedy, also does not appear to have publicly commented on the claim. (RELATED: Claim Michelle Obama Regrets Endorsing Harris Is False)
In addition, Check Your Fact did not find any credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Nov. 27, Lead Stories debunked the claim, reporting the original author of the post indicated the image was fake.
Check Your Fact contacted the Dallas Police Department regarding the claim, but they declined to comment.
Trump ordered 2,800 documents related to the Kennedy assassination be unveiled in 2017, but blocked the release of others, subjecting them to further review, according to Reuters.
