Fact Check: 

Tennis player Gabriela Dabrowski disclosed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer after finding a lump in 2023, according to The Guardian. Dabrowski had a surgery before returning to the court, but delayed treatment for Wimbledon, the outlet reported.

A Facebook post claims Powers died from a disease called “turbo cancer.” The post shared a photo of a headline that makes the claim, which features a disclaimer that purports the claim has been verified.

The headline reads, “Fully Vaccinated Fox News Doctor Kelly Powers, Who Survived On-Air Heart Attack, Dies From Turbo Cancer.”

The caption reads, “Turbo cancer started after the v a x came out.”

This claim is inaccurate, however. It stems from a site called The People’s Voice, which frequently posts misinformation. The site contains a “Terms of Use” page with the disclaimer saying the site “makes no representations about the suitability, reliability, availability, timeliness, and accuracy of the information, software, products, services and related graphics contained on the site for any purpose.”

Powers posted to Instagram in July 2020 disclosing her brain tumor diagnosis. She died earlier this month from brain cancer, according to the New York Post.
