The UK and Iraq signed a deal that strengthened economic and security ties, according to the Times of Israel. The two government’s leaders also said they “agreed that the increasingly global nature of organized immigration crime underscores the need to stop people smuggling gangs from putting so many lives at risk,” per the outlet.
Social media users are claiming that the UK is seeking to rejoin the European Union. The UK left the European Union formally in 2020 after a 2016 referendum, commonly known as Brexit.
One user wrote, “UK rejoin EU…Finally Big Decision Good News For Everyone.”
This claim, however, is false. No credible media outlet has reported that the UK was attempting to rejoin the European Union. A wider internet search also did not yield any results.
