A viral image shared on X purports to show a post from conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair claiming she and Tesla CEO Elon Musk used In vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive their child.

Verdict: False

A spokesperson for St. Clair denied the claim’s authenticity in an email to Check Your Fact.

Fact Check:

St. Clair claimed Musk “slid into [her] DMs” on X and she interviewed him while working for the satire site The Babylon Bee, according to an exclusive from the New York Post. St. Clair also claimed she was told to keep her pregnancy a “secret,” the outlet reported.

The image, viewed over 500,000 times, purports to show an X post from St. Clair claiming she and Musk used IVF to conceive their child.

“Elon and I were not ‘together’ despite the claims circulating. Elon and I used IVF with PGT-M & CRISPR to ensure our baby had the best traits. Elon managed the process and assured me everything would be alright. Our little one’s DNA now includes enhancements from other organisms for superior intelligence & health and we couldn’t be happier,” the purported X post begins.

“This is why I agreed to it because I trust Elon’s judgment not only with the future of my country but also for my baby. I hope this clears things up and the trolls should go back into their caves. Now leave us alone!” the purported post continues.

The claim is false. Check Your Fact did not find the purported post using an advanced search of St. Clair’s verified X account, @stclairashley. Musk does not appear to have publicly commented on the claim, either.

Likewise, Check Your Fact did not find any credible news reports to support the claim. In fact, the opposite is true. On Feb. 16, Lead Stories debunked the claim. (RELATED: Did The NFL Admit To Canceling Musk’s DOGE Super Bowl Ads?)

Additionally, a spokesperson for St. Clair denied the claim’s authenticity in an email to Check Your Fact.

“That is a counterfeit post, and if you look a little deeper you will find that It never originated from Ashley or Ashley’s account,” the same spokesperson said.

In a Feb. 14 post shared on X, St. Clair revealed she had given birth to a child five months prior and named Musk as the father.
