Verdict: False

The photo, which dates back to 2014, actually shows a performative art project. It was not related to a protest against President Donald Trump.

Fact Check:

The image shows women in a circle screaming and lifting their skirts. Some social media users attempted to link the photo to a demonstration against Trump.

“This is not a joke,” reads the text above the photo. “They gathered to scream at Trump through their vaginas. These are the people who want to control the government and teach your kids.” (RELATED: Does This Image Show US Protesters Destroying A Road?)

Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found the photo on the British Live Art Development Agency website in a 2014 gallery of U.K. art projects. The caption states that it comes “from Nicola Canavan’s DIY Raising the Skirt in collaboration with photographer Dawn Felicia Knox.”

Neither the Live Art Development Agency website nor the Raising the Skirt website link the photo to Trump. In a 2015 interview with Dazed Magazine, Canavan described her Raising the Skirt project as creating “safe spaces for women to discover their inner warrior.”

While Raising the Skirt did hold a workshop in Newcastle on Jan. 20, 2017, the day Trump was inaugurated, the photo predates that event.
