Fact Check:
Harris visited the DMZ at the conclusion of a four-day overseas trip to Asia, viewing military installations on the southern side of the DMZ and greeting soldiers at Camp Bonifas, USA Today reported.
North Korea has fired approximately six missiles in 12 days over Harris’ visit and the return of a U.S. aircraft carrier to the region, according to Reuters. In one launch, a missile flew over the country of Japan, prompting rare government warnings, The Washington Post reported.
The Facebook image shows Harris standing beside a soldier while looking into a pair of binoculars. In the photo, the caps are still on the binoculars. “Covered binoculars…,” the image’s caption reads.
