Schiff is reportedly planning to run for a leadership role following the 2022 midterms, eyeing the Democratic caucus’ top spot if Pelosi steps down, according to Politico.
The Facebook image purportedly shows a screen grab of a news article titled “Adam Schiff Pays Boy’s Family 7.6 Million in Damages.” The image’s text claims Schiff “paid the family to keep them quiet about an incident between the grown man and their son.”
“Just a reminder of what a disgusting perv/PEDO this puke really is,” reads the post. One iteration of the claim was posted to Twitter where it garnered over 600 retweets.

There is no evidence for this claim. It appears to stem from an article on a satirical website called “America’s Last Line of Defense.” Its “About Us” page reveals that the outlet is “network of parody, satire, and tomfoolery” and that “everything on this website is fiction.”
The article also makes an error in Schiff’s place of representation, marking his state as West Virginia, not California. Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to confirm the screenshot’s claims. (RELATED: Did Ted Cruz Call Adam Schiff A “Son Of A B****?”)
Check Your Fact has reached out to Schiff’s office for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received.
This is not the first time Schiff has been the target of false claims on social media. Check Your fact previously debunked a claim suggesting the California representative was being impeached from the House of Representatives.
