A post shared on Facebook claims that the U.S. Army Cyber Command found that 160 illegal immigrants were unlawfully granted U.S. citizenship.

Verdict: False

The claim originates from a satirical website. There is no evidence that any illegal immigrants were granted citizenship in exchange for voting Democrat.

Fact Check:

Cities across the U.S. are considering allowing non-citizens to vote on local matters only, a plan that has been under constant fire from GOP representatives and activists, according to The Center for Public Integrity. State-level enforcement units tasked with investigating claims of fraud during the 2022 midterms found no widespread evidence of election misconduct, The Associated Press reported.

A Facebook post purports illegal immigrants were granted U.S. citizenship for promising to vote Democrat for life. The text is attributed to Michael Baxter from Nov. 22.

“A U.S. military investigation into the depth of midterm election fraud found that 160 former illegal immigrants who voted Democrat were given U.S. citizenship only weeks ahead of the election,” the post reads in part.

This claim stems from a satirical website. Michael Baxter is a writer for Real Raw News, a satirical website. “This website contains humor, parody, and satire,” reads a disclaimer on the website’s “About Us” page. (RELATED: Did Illegal Immigrants Vote In Colorado Elections?)

There are no credible news reports illegal immigrants being unlawfully granted U.S. citizenship. The post alleges that Cyber Command investigated the tip, but there is no evidence of this on Cyber Command’s website or verified social media accounts.

This is not the first time misinformation has spread on Facebook. Check Your Fact previously debunked a claim Russia’s former president offered to supply Poland with air defense systems.
