FACT CHECK: Did Elon Musk Say Jack Dorsey Was Paid By The Democratic Party?
An image shared on Instagram purports current Twitter CEO Elon Musk shared a tweet accusing former Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey, of being paid by the Democratic party.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk has recently released information regarding contacts between Twitter employees and the Biden Campaign in 2020 discussing the censorship of various accounts, Fox News reported. A second release of more files purportedly from the company’s alleged documented “secret blacklists” by employees, according to Axios.
The Instagram image purportedly shows a tweet from Musk saying that the former CEO of Twitter was paid by the Democratic party to sensor information on Twitter regarding the Biden family. The image features a light blue hue and no timestamp.
“The Democrats paid the CEO Jack Dorsey of Twitter millions of dollars to block and delete people’s pages during the 2020 election That posted anything about Hunter Biden’s laptop,” the post reads. “Let me say that again democratic party paid millions to block stories about the Biden’s.” (RELATED: Did Elon Musk Publish This Tweet Saying He Would Be Deleting Twitter?)
The image is digitally fabricated. There is no credible news report that suggests this tweet is authentic. This tweet appears nowhere on Musk’s verified Twitter account. There is no record of this tweet on the deleted tweet tracker.
Musk stated on Twitter that he believed “controversial decisions” were made without Dorsey’s approval and that he was not aware of any systemic bias in the company. He added that he believed Dorsey had a “pure heart.”
Controversial decisions were often made without getting Jack’s approval and he was unaware of systemic bias. The inmates were running the asylum.
