A video shared on Twitter purports to show President Joe Biden being led around by a blind man during a recent event.

Verdict: Misleading

In the original video published by C-SPAN, Biden is escorting a blind man himself during a tour of the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority in December 2021.

Fact Check:

Biden has accepted an invitation from Britain’s King Charles III to make a state visit, according to the White House, The Guardian reported. The invitation follows the news that First Lady Jill Biden will attend King Charles III’s coronation in place of the president, The Telegraph reported.

The Twitter video suggests Biden was led around by a blind man during a recent event. “Biden being led by a blind guy,” the post’s caption claims.

The same clip suggesting Biden was being led around by the blind man during the event was posted to TikTok on Mar. 19, 2023, where it received over 700,000 likes.

The claim is misleading. There are no credible news reports indicating Biden was led around by a blind man during a recent event. Rather, the original video published by C-SPAN shows the president escorting a blind man during a tour of the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority in December 2021.

The video opens with the blind man holding onto Biden’s arm as they enter the facility. Another man dressed in a suit walks behind the pair and helps guide the blind man to the other side of the room after directing Biden where to stand during the event. The man wearing the suit then welcomes Biden to the Kansas City facility, suggesting he works for the Area Transportation Authority.

Biden traveled to the Kansas City facility in 2021 to deliver a speech on his $1 trillion “Building a Better America” infrastructure deal, according to local news outlet FOX 4 KC. (RELATED: Did Joe Biden Make These Remarks About ‘Stable Jesus’?)
