Verdict: False

The video is miscaptioned. The full video, which can be found on C-SPAN, shows Biden looking down at his notes, not falling asleep.

Fact Check:

Biden will install a monument honoring Emmett Till, a black teen who was lynched in 1955 after being accused of whistling at a white woman, according to AP News. The monument will also honor his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, and will include three separate sites in Illinois and Mississippi, BBC reported.

A Facebook post alleges Biden fell asleep while speaking with Israeli President Isaac Herzog. In the video, Biden can be seen sitting back in a chair, hands folded near his chest with his head down.

“WAKE UP, JOE,” reads text above the video. “What kind of world leader falls asleep while in a meeting?” The post’s caption reads, “The world is laughing at us…”

The video is miscaptioned, however. The full video can be found on C-SPAN and shows Biden looking down at notes on his lap, but does not fall asleep. Likewise, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports about Biden falling asleep during a meeting. (RELATED: Viral Video Of Joe Biden Digitally Altered To Include Flatulence Noises)

Check Your Fact has reached out to the White House for comment and will update this piece accordingly if one is received.

This is not the first time misinformation involving Biden has gone viral. Check Your Fact previously debunked a claim that Biden and former President Donald Trump “both died years ago.”
