FACT CHECK: Is The IRS Sending Out A Fourth Round Of Stimulus Checks In 10 States?
A post shared on Facebook purports the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is sending out a fourth round of stimulus checks in 10 states, including Alabama and Texas.
The claim is false. The claim is neither referenced on the IRS’ website nor its verified social media accounts.
The Facebook post purports the IRS is sending out a fourth round of stimulus checks in 10 states, including Alabama and Texas. “If your account information is on file with the IRS, you will automatically get your money deposited into the account they have on file. If you received a paper check For your tax refund this year, you will get your stimulus. The amounts range from $500-$3,284 depending on the number of depends [sic] you claimed,” the post reads.
The claim is false, however. The IRS has neither issued a statement via its website nor its verified social media accounts regarding the claim. Likewise, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports suggesting a fourth round of stimulus checks would be made available in 10 states, including Alabama and Texas. In addition, neither the White House nor President Joe Biden has publicly commented on the claim.

On Nov. 17 of this year, the IRS issued a press release reminding Americans they can still claim their stimulus checks if they haven’t already.
“The vast majority of those eligible for Economic Impact Payments related to Coronavirus tax relief have already received them or claimed them through the Recovery Rebate Credit. The deadlines to file a return and claim the 2020 and 2021 credits are May 17, 2024, and April 15, 2025, respectively,” the release indicates.
