A post shared on social media purportedly shows an image of a list of visitors to Jeffrey Epstein’s island that featured several prominent celebrities and politicians.

Verdict: False

The list is fabricated.

Fact Check:

Recent court documents revealed depositions from Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and Virginia Giuffre who brought a lawsuit against Epstein, The Independent reported. Giuffre claimed that she was trafficked to Victoria’s Secret executive Les Wexner.

A post shared on Facebook shows an extensive list with no source or verification. The list includes Obama, Oprah and Kimmel.

The caption reads, “Here are the visitors to Jeffrey Epstein’s island who were confirmed.”

The claim is inaccurate. Recently revealed court documents have shown a list of Epstein Associates, clients and friends. The documents mention Donald Trump and Bill Clinton, but not Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey or Jimmy Kimmel. (Did Donald Trump Deliver A Bigger Tax Cut Than Ronald Reagan?)

Kimmel recently denied any association with Epstein after Aaron Rogers implied Kimmel was on the list. Kimmel threatened legal action if Rogers continued to make accusations. Kimmel stated, “I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality.”

This is not the first piece of misinformation that has been shared online. Check Your Fact debunked a video claiming to show the attack that killed Saleh al-Arouri.
