FACT CHECK: No, JAG Did Not Arrest Colorado Supreme Justice Melissa Hart

A post shared on social media purports that JAG arrested Colorado Supreme Court Justice Melissa Hart.

Verdict: False

The claim is false. It stems from a satirical website.

Fact Check:

Former President Donald Trump’s request to have the Georgia case thrown out was rejected by an Atlanta Judge,  CNN reported. Trump has been charged with attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, but Trump’s attorneys attempted to dismiss the case on the basis of the 1st amendment.

A post shared on Facebook alleges Hart was arrested. The post shows a black background with white text.

The text reads, “JAG Arrests 4th Treasonous Colorado SCJ Melissa Hart.”

The claim is false. The claim stems from a satirical news outlet called Real Raw News. The article’s headline is the same as the claim in the post. The article states military officers executed an arrest warrant at Hart’s home.

Real Raw News’ “about section self identifies as satire. Their disclaimer reads, “This website contains humor, parody, and satire.” The post shared the headline without referencing the Real Raw News logo or labeling the claim as satire. (RELATED: No, The Guardian Did Not Published A Headline Labeling Afternoon Tea As Racist)

This is not the first time misinformation has been shared online. Check Your Fact debunked a claim that a video shows Barack Obama saying the U.S. trained ISIS.
