FACT CHECK: Viral Threads Image Falsely Claims Barron Trump Attended His Father’s Rally In Butler, PA

The tweet shows Barron Trump at his father’s July 9 campaign rally in Doral, Florida. There is no evidence to suggest Barron attended the campaign rally where his father was shot.

Trump attended the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, wearing a bandage on his ear following a shooting at his July 13 campaign rally in Butler, PA, according to NBC News. The event marks Trump’s first public appearance since the shooting, the outlet reported.
The screenshot of the tweet shared via Threads claims Barron Trump attended the July 13 campaign rally where his father, Donald Trump was shot. “Imagine having a front row seat to your dad getting shot in the head. Barron will never forget what they did to his father!,” the tweet, which includes a photo of the younger Trump, reads. The Threads post featuring the tweet has received nearly 3,000 likes as of writing.
The claim is false, however. Another tweet shared by a pro-Trump social media user indicates the photo shows Barron at his father’s July 9 campaign rally in Doral, Florida. In the photo, the youngest member of the Trump family can be seen standing in between his father’s lawyer Alina Habba and his older brother Eric Trump.

Likewise, a July 10 article published by Fox News indicates Barron Trump made his “debut” at his father’s rally in Doral and received applause from the crowd. A photo of Barron included in the Fox News article appears to match that of the tweet. In both images, he can be seen wearing a suit and a blue tie.
In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim that Barron attended the campaign rally where his father was shot. Actually, the opposite is true. Furthermore, Trump did not indicate that Barron had attended the rally via his official website or his TRUTH Social account. Trump’s wife, former First Lady Melania Trump also did not indicate that she or Barron were present at the rally in a statement she released reacting to the shooting.
