A post shared on social media purportedly shows a photo posing with a book called “On The Jews And Their Lies.”

Verdict: False

The photo is edited to show the book.

Fact Check:

Thunberg was recently arrested by Danish police after blocking an entrance to a building in protest of the war in Gaza, The Guardian reported. Since the arrest, Thunberg has also joined the call for a boycott of Chevron as she claims they are “climate criminals” and send funding to Israel, according to Democracy Now.

A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, purports to show Thunberg holding an anti-Jewish book. The book in the alleged image is titled “On The Jews And Their Lies” and is authored by Martin Luther, a German priest in the 16th century.

The claim is inaccurate. The photo is digitally altered to show this book. The original photo was posted in Feb. 2023 by Thunberg and shows her holding her own book on climate change.

She posted saying, “I’m so pleased to share that The Climate Book is now available in the USA and Canada! I have gathered the wisdom of over one hundred contributors to highlight the many different crises we face and equip us with the knowledge we need to avoid a climate disaster.”

Thunberg has spoken out in support of the Palestinians in the conflict with Israel and accused Israel of genocide, according to The Times Of Israel. (RELATED: Image Of Greta Thunberg Wearing Hamas Headband Is Altered)

This is not the first time misinformation has circulated online. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim Elon Musk banned Taylor Swift’s account.
