A post shared on Facebook claims to show Iranians celebrating Hezbollah leader Sayed Nasrallah’s death.

The video predates the killing of Nasrallah by nearly two months. It appears to be connected to an Iranian singer.
Fact Check:
Israel launched a ground invasion of southern Lebanon on Sept. 30, seeking to target Hezbollah militants, according to NPR. This comes after the Israeli military killed Nasrallah in an airstrike on Beirut on Sept. 27, the outlet reported.
Social media users are claiming to show Iranian citizens celebrating Nasrallah’s death. One user wrote, “Iranians celebrating Nasrallah’s elimination.”
This claim is false. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found that the video is from August 2024. The video was posted to Instagram on Aug. 11, 2024, by an Iranian account. (RELATED: Did JD Vance Follow Trump Would-Be Assassin On Social Media?)

The video’s caption reads, “When your edit is here 😍😉Singer Milad Biranond.” The caption tags Milad Beiranvand, who responded with three heart emojis and a fire emoji. Beiranvand is an Iranian singer.
Thus the video appears to be connected to Beiranvand, and is not connected to Nasrallah’s death. We rate the claim as false.
