Former President Donald Trump shared the claim that the CEO of JPMorgan Chase Jamie Dimon endorsed him.

Verdict: False

A spokesperson for Dimon told CNBC that he has not endorsed any candidate.

Fact Check:

The Trump campaign has announced a rally event will be held at Madison Square Garden that will take place near the end of the month, Fox News reported. Trump previously hosted a rally in the Bronx which more than 10,000 people showed up to, but that venue only held 3,500 while Madison Square Garden will hold over 19,000, according to the outlet.

A post shared by Trump on Truth Social purports that Dimon publicly endorsed him for president. The post included an image of Dimon in a white button-down shirt with a small microphone attached.

Text on the image reads, “New: Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase has endorsed Trump for President.”

The claim is inaccurate. A spokesperson for JPMorgan Chase told CNBC that Dimon has not endorsed Trump or any candidate for president. The outlet reported that Dimon also stated he is not endorsing anyone during a summit in Mumbai.

Trump claimed that he did not post the information, saying some on his team shared it, according to NBC. He said, “I don’t know anything about it.. somebody put it up — no, I don’t know.”  (Fact Check: Did Bill Murray Endorse Trump?)

In an interview with CNBC during the World Economic Forum in Davos in January, Dimon did give Trump credit on certain policies CNBC reported. “He’s kind of right about NATO,” he told the outlet. “Kind of right about immigration. He grew the economy quite well.”

In November 2023, Dimon called on Democrats to support former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in the Republican Primary, according to Politico. He argued that she would be a better candidate than Trump, but Dimon also called on liberals to stop “denigrating” fellow Americans for supporting Trump.
