American Red Cross volunteers from Massachusetts are providing support to individuals affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, according to CBS News Boston. More than 5o volunteers are feeding and sheltering those who have been displaced by both hurricanes, the outlet reported.

The claim is false and originally stems from a post shared on the “America – Love It Or Leave It” Facebook page, which is satirical. The account describes itself as “a subsidiary of the America’s Last Line of Defense [ALLOD] network of trollery. Nothing on this page is real.”

The page also bears a “Satire/Parody” label. The original post shared via the satirical Facebook page has garnered over 3,000 likes as of writing.

Likewise, Check Your Fact did not find the claim referenced on the website for the American Red Cross or any of its verified social media accounts.

In addition, Check Your Fact did not find any credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On October 14, Snopes debunked the claim, also tracing its origin to the satirical Facebook page. Furthermore, a spokesperson for the American Red Cross denied the claim’s validity in an email to Check Your Fact.
