A post made on X claims that The Quaker Oats Company plans to place Aunt Jemima back on its syrup bottles.

Verdict: False

The claim originated as satire.

Fact Check:

The Quaker Oats Company announced its decision to retire its Aunt Jemima brand and logo in 2020. The logo was over 130-years-old and was retired due to racial stereotyping concerns, according to CNN.

A post made on X claims that The Quaker Oats Company plans to place its Aunt Jemima logo back on its syrup bottles. The caption reads, “🚨🚨🚨BREAKING: BOYCOTTS WORK!!! QUAKER HAS ANNOUNCED AUNT JEMIMA WILL BE BACK ON SYRUP BOTTLES IN 2025: “Our CUSTOMERS HAVE SPOKEN.”

The claim is false. There is no evidence that The Quaker Oats Company plans to bring the Aunt Jemima logo out of retirement. (RELATED: Did Melania Trump Say She Wants a Divorce?)

The claim appears to have originated as satire. Satirical website The Dunning-Kruger Times published an article titled “Quaker has announced that Aunt Jemima will be back on syrup bottles in 2025: “Our customers have spoken.” The website’s About Us section describes the website as “a network of parody, satire, and and tomfoolery.”

The satire reads, “You heard it here first, patriots. Quaker Oats, the parent company of the Pearl Milling Company, the former owner of the Aunt Jemima Brand, will revive the iconic cook on its boxe4s and syrup bottles starting next year sometime.” Check Your Fact has reached out to The Dunning-Kruger Times and The Quaker Oats Company for comment.
