A video shared on X claims to show Hamas firing on a humanitarian aid flight.

Verdict: False

The first part of the video is from 2022. The second part of the video does not have gunfire.

Fact Check:

Ceasefire negotiations for a pause in the fighting in Gaza are set to resume in Doha, Qatar, just a couple weeks after the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, according to BBC News. (RELATED: Did Tesco and Shell Redirect Energy From a Solar Farm Meant to Power 100,000 Homes?)

Social media users are sharing a video claiming to show Hamas firing on humanitarian airdrops. One user wrote, “H×mas firing at humanitarian aid airdrops 👇They hate airdrops, because the aid gets directly to civilians. H×mas prefers UNRWA aid instead, because it gets distributed through H×mas, and they make money out of it.”

This claim is false. The first part of the video is taken from an August 2022 TikTok video. The video shows people emerging from a barbershop and looking at a human hand in the sky, which appears to be generated by artificial intelligence.

The second part of the video appears to have begun to circulate since September, according to DW. One of the posts sharing the video was in Hindi and doesn’t have any audible gunfire.

Israeli fact-checking outfit Fake Reporter also debunked this claim.
