A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, purportedly shows a Canadian citizen voting in the U.S. election. The photo shows a ballot with the bubble for Trump filled in, the caption claims the poster voted and is not a U.S. citizen.
The caption reads, “I am Canadian but USA doesn’t require voter Id so figured I would drive across the border and vote. Kind regards.”
The claim is inaccurate. The image dates back to Oct. 13 when a different social media user posted the image without any reference to the voter being a non-citizen. The new X post edited the image so her thumb would be cropped out.

The user’s X account bio suggests that she is a U.S. citizen and veteran named Ashley Muñoz. The bio reads, “Mom/Wife/Vet/MilSpouse

Muñoz reposted a tweet that called out users for using the photo of the ballot to claim they voted in the election.
