The claim is false. A Harris County Democratic Party spokesperson denied the claim’s validity in an email to Check Your Fact.

Fact Check:

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll shows Harris with a one-point lead over 2024 Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump nationally, according to The Hill. The same poll shows 47% for Trump on the economy compared to Harris’ 37% support, the outlet reported.

The X post, viewed over 1,000 times as of writing, claims a paid organizer for the Harris County Democratic Party purportedly screamed at a child at a recent Harris-Walz 2024 campaign rally in Texas.

“Say her name. The woman, identified as Jordan Sierra Bowen, is reportedly a paid organizer for the Harris County Democratic Party. She’s the one who’s screamed at the little baby. Her actions have drawn significant backlash, with many condemning her behavior. @VP you paid her,” the post’s caption reads.

The post features two photos, one of a woman appearing to yell at a child and another of a woman standing in front of a Harris County Democratic Party banner.

The claim is false. While an online video shows a young woman did appear to scream at a child outside of a recent Harris-Walz 2024 campaign rally in Houston, Texas, it was not Bowen. According to the Houston Chronicle, Harris County Democratic Party Chair Mike Doyle denied Bowen was involved in the alleged incident. In addition, the outlet indicated that the Harris County Democratic Party shared a statement on X saying the woman in the video was not one of their employees.

“We are aware of a video circulating of a woman screaming at a child, apparently outside the Kamala Harris rally,” the Oct. 26 statement begins, according to the outlet.

“The person depicted in that video is not and never has been an employee of HCDP or TDP. Any outlet claiming to have identified this person as such is spreading misinformation,” it continues. The Harris County Democratic Party has protected their tweets so the statement is not visible to non-followers as of writing. The same statement is visible via their verified Facebook and Instagram accounts, however.

The same photo of Bowen featured in the X post appears on an event page for the Harris County Democratic Party, the outlet indicated. According to the same event page, Bowen previously served as organizing director for the Harris County Democratic Party. Bowen also bears no physical resemblance to the woman accused of screaming at the child at the Harris-Walz campaign rally in Houston.

Furthermore, Derek Kelly, a spokesperson for the Harris County Democratic Party, denied the claim’s validity in an email to Check Your Fact.

“The woman in the video is not Jordan Bowen and does not work nor has ever worked for the Harris County Democratic Party. Additionally, I can confirm that Jordan Bowen has not worked for the Harris Democratic Party for over a year,” Kelly said.
