Verdict: False
The claim is false. A spokesperson for Burger King told Check Your Fact via email that the advertisement predates Trump’s visit to McDonald’s.
Fact Check:
Trump will hold a campaign rally on Nov. 2 in Salem, Virginia, according to Virginia Mercury. A recent Washington Post-Shar poll shows 2024 Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of Trump by six points in Virginia, the outlet reported.
The X image, viewed over 2,000 times, claims Burger King purportedly used an advertisement to take aim at Trump following his visit to McDonald’s.
“Burger King Slap-Back after Trump tries to serve fake orders to fake customers at McDonalds … Nice,” the image’s caption reads. “Work For A King, Not A Clown. We’re Hiring,” the text of the advertisement reads.
The claim is false. The image originally stems from the CasualUK subreddit, where it was posted in 2021. “Burger King taking digs at Maccys UK,” the post’s title reads.
Likewise, Burger King does not appear to have issued a press release or a social media statement in response to the claim that the advertisement is recent and takes aim at Trump. Trump also has not referenced the claim on his 2024 campaign website or his TRUTH Social account.
In addition, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Nov. 1, Logically Facts debunked the claim. (RELATED: Did Trump Claim His Family Will Leave The Country If He Loses The Election?)
Furthermore, a spokesperson for Burger King told Check Your Fact via email that the advertisement predates Trump’s visit to McDonald’s.
“[I am] confirming this ad predates Trump’s visit to McDonald’s and is in no way related to his visit,” the same spokesperson said.
Trump visited a McDonald’s franchise in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania on Oct. 20, according to The Associated Press. Trump made fries and held a press conference via the fast food restaurant’s drive-through window, the outlet reported.
