Verdict: Misleading

“Voters without a permanent home” can legally use certain buildings as an address to vote in Maricopa County.

Fact Check:

Former President Donald Trump has been declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election, marking the end of a political comeback, according to The Associated Press. During election day, voters documented any possible instance of irregularities and shared them on social media, especially in Arizona.

A post being shared on X claims that over 60 people registered to vote using an address that was not their home. The post seems to imply that these people used government buildings as an address illegally.

This is false, however. Maricopa County allows for what they call “voters without a permanent home” to use municipal buildings as an address to be able to legally vote. These buildings can include homeless shelters, halfway houses and courthouses.
