A viral post shared on X claims President Joe Biden purportedly announced he will run for president again in 2028.

Verdict: False

The claim is neither referenced on the White House’s website nor its verified social media accounts, and there is no other evidence to support the claim.

Fact Check:

Vice President Kamala Harris will deliver a concession speech at 4 p.m. EST on Wednesday, according to USA Today. Harris lost the 2024 election to former President Donald Trump following what polls initially showed to be a close race, the outlet reported.

“Breaking: Biden announced that he will run again in 2028,” the X post, which has garnered over 100,000 views, claims. The post does not provide a source to support its claim.

The claim is false. Check Your Fact did not find the claim referenced on the White House’s website or its verified social media accounts. Likewise, Biden does not appear to have publicly commented on the claim via his personal or government X accounts.

In addition, Check Your Fact did not find any credible news reports to support the claim. If Biden had actually announced a 2028 presidential bid, multiple media outlets would’ve covered it, yet none have. Actually, the opposite is true. On November 6, Snopes debunked the claim.

Trump was elected the 47th president, securing 270 electoral votes with a win in Wisconsin, according to The Associated Press. Trump is “the first president to return to power since Grover Cleveland regained the White House in the 1892 election,” the outlet reported. Harris called Trump to concede the race Wednesday, Al Jazeera reported.
