A post made on X claims actresses Kathy Griffin and Jane Fonda plan on moving to Canada when President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

Verdict: False

There is no evidence to show Griffin and Fonda made plans to move to Canada. Griffin has stated the claim is false.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming that Griffin and Fonda plan on moving to Canada when Trump takes office in January 2025. One user wrote, “BREAKING: Kathy Griffin and Jane Fonda said that they’ll be moving to Canada, due to Trump’s landslide win.”

Fonda has not made any posts on X regarding the claim. Griffin made a post on X saying the claim is false.

“lol. Not true. I am staying right here in America. Also, I performed for our troops in Afghanistan AND Iraq.  Have you?  Yeah, I didn’t think so,” Griffin tweeted.

Griffin made a post on TikTok addressing the claims alleging she plans to move to Canada. In the video, Griffin states, “I’m not leaving the country, alright? I never said that” and “I’m not going anywhere. I’m just thrilled to be back at work.”
