Verdict: False

This claim is inaccurate. It originates as satire.

Fact Check:

King made an X post calling out Musk, saying the “Musk-man” has posted an abundance of “pro-Trump disinformation and outright lies,” according to Mashable. Musk has shown plenty of support for Trump recently, endorsing him in July and donating millions to a pro-Trump PAC, the outlet reported.

A Threads post claims Musk has banned King from his platform. It shows headshots of Musk and King, both in suits.

Text on the image reads, “Elon Musk Bans Stephen King Permanently From Platform X After He Trolled the Tech Mogul.”

This claim is inaccurate. King’s X account is still active at the time of writing. Additionally, there are no credible news reports to corroborate the claim. (RELATED: Image Edited To Show Stephen King With A Pro-Palestine T-Shirt)

The claim was originally posted by a Facebook account called SpaceX Fanclub, showing a label in the top left corner that says “rated satire.” This account’s bio reads, “We post SATIRE, nothing on this page is real.” The claim was also posted in the form of an article on a site called Esspots, where it is also labeled as satire. The site also contains a “disclaimer” that says, in part, “Before you proceed to read our content, we would like to emphasize that nothing on this website is real.”

Check Your Fact reached out to an X spokesperson for comment.
