The claim is false and originally stems from an article published on the satire site “SpaceX Arena.”
Fact Check:
Goldberg said she was “still not going to say his name,” in reference to President-Elect Donald Trump on an episode of “The View” following the 2024 election, according to Newsweek. Aside from Grover Cleveland, Trump is only the second president to serve two nonconsecutive terms, the outlet reported.
The Threads post, which has received 4,000 likes as of writing, claims Gaines purportedly criticized Goldberg on ABC’s daytime talk show, “The View.”
“Riley Gaiпes Criticizes Whoopi Goldberg oп The View: ‘Yoυ’re a Disgrace to Real Womeп!,'” the post reads. The post includes a link to an article published on Batmatlite Media that repeats the claim.
The claim is false and originally stems from an article published on the satire site “SpaceX Arena.” The site includes verbiage on its “About Us” page indicating its content is not meant to be taken seriously.
“We use parody and exaggeration to mock current events and trends and aim to provide entertainment and laughter to our readers,” the site’s “About Us” page reads in part.
“We are not a reliable source of information, but rather a platform for fun and comedy. We do not intend to offend or harm anyone with our content, but rather to make them smile and think. We hope you enjoy our website as much as we enjoy creating it,” it continues.
Likewise, Check Your Fact did not find the claim referenced on Gaines’ associated social media accounts. In addition, neither Goldberg nor ABC appear to have publicly commented on the claim. Gaines also has not been listed as a guest on any recent episodes of “The View.”
Furthermore, Check Your Fact found no credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On Nov. 7, PolitiFact debunked the claim, indicating it originally stemmed from the satire site. (RELATED: No, Mark Cuban’s Net Worth Did Not Take A $1 Billion Hit After Endorsing Kamala Harris)
