A post made on X claims to depict a video of New York Police Department officers removing an illegal immigrant from the street because of President-elect Donald Trump’s policies.

The video was originally posted in October, before the 2024 presidential election. Trump will not be sworn in until January 20th, 2025.

Fact Check:

Social media users are claiming a video shows NYPD officers removing an illegal alien from the street because of Trump. One post’s caption reads, “Donald Trump hasn’t even taken office yet and it’s starting New York Police Department removing illegal migrants off the streets Many New Yorkers have been making videos saying their streets are also being cleared of illegals!”

The claim is false. The video was originally posted to TikTok in October, before the election. The caption reads, “NYPD police officers taking Action🇺🇸🗽.” (RELATED: Will The NYPD Require Its Officers To Wear Their Pronouns On Their Uniforms?)

The post claims that the depicted NYPD officers are shown removing an illegal migrant. The police officers in the video do not specify that the man is an illegal immigrant. A hashtag included with the original video uploaded to TikTok reads, “#homeless.”

The claim that the man in the video is being removed because of Trump’s policies is also false. Although Trump won the 2024 presidential election, he will not be sworn in until January 20th, 2025.
