Fact Check:
U.S. ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy, cousin of Kennedy, came out against President-elect Donald Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services pick’s views on vaccines at the National Press Club, NBC News reported. She referred to him as “Bobby” and suggested that the public is new to his thoughts and ideas, those of which are different from the rest of the family’s, according to the outlet.
A post shared on X, formerly known Twitter, allegedly shows a protest video of a man drinking seed oil to lash out at Kennedy’s stance on the product. The man in the video says several expletives as he sits on an upside-down bucket before he drinks from a bottle of oil.
The caption reads, “Liberals are now CHUGGING seed oils to protest RFK Jr…”
The claim is inaccurate. The video was originally posted to the account idgaffoods, the account’s username is visible underneath the TikTok logo in the video. The account is known for making videos related to food products the account’s bio reads, “just eat it!” Another video shows him drinking raw eggs and pickle juice.
The account’s creator said his message is “the worst food in the world is better than the drugs that he was once addicted to,” according to GQ. The creator remained unnamed, but shared he has been sober since 2012 and that his anxiety about germs and toxins caused him to take benzodiazepines, these videos are “exposure therapy,” the outlet reported.
Furthermore, at no point in the video did he mention Kennedy. Kennedy has discussed the chronic health issues in the country and argued that seed oils are harmful, Newsweek reported. While there is some science that points to some chemicals being harmful, one professional called his interpretation of data an “oversimplification,” according to the outlet.
